PUBLIC NOTICE:

PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING

Please take notice that Aviest Engineering of Caribou, ME (207) 227-1057 will be holding a Public Information Meeting on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 5:00 P.M. at the Holden Town Office. The purpose of the meeting is for Downeast Solar, LLC to inform the public of its intention to file a Natural Resource Protection Act permit application with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection pursuant to the provisions of 38 M.R.S.A §§ 480. This application is for the installation of a 4.98MW solar array facility to be located on the backlot of DeBeck Business Park in Holden, Maine. In addition to a Natural Resource Protection Act permit application, Downeast Solar, LLC is also planning to submit a Site Location of Development Act permit application with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection pursuant to the provisions of 38 M.R.S.A §§ 480-A thru 480-BB.

 

As pursuant to section 10(B) of the aforementioned rule, a public informational meeting prior to filing the application is required. The meeting will include information of the proposed project, any anticipated environmental impacts, and to educate the public about the opportunities for public comment to the Department of Environmental Protection during the application process. This notice also serves notification that Downeast Solar, LLC will be filing these permit applications within 2 weeks of this public informational meeting.
