Police

2007 Annual Report

The Police Department had a total of 1816 calls for service. These are actual calls where a police officer had to take some sort of action. These do not include speeding tickets or other civil matters that the police deal with on a regular basis.

Here is a sample of the types of complaints our officers handled during 2006:

-  Accidents w/Property Damage       96

-  Accidents w/Injuries                    27

-  Alarms                                     125

-  Assaults                                    17

-  Attempts to Locate                     33

-  Agency Assist                           183

-  Animal Problems                          83

-  ATV/Motorcycle Problems             17

-  Burglaries                                    7

-  Erratic Vehicle Operators             184

-  Family Fight/Domestics                   4

-  Emergency hang-ups/Misdials       162

-  Harassment                                28

-  Suicide Threat                              7

-  Theft                                        52

-  Threatening                                 2

- Welfare Check                             25

I hope this gives you an idea of what our police officers are doing in the community.   I would like to thank the Town Manager for his guidance through the year and also the Town Council for their support.

If there is an emergency, please call 911. Please do not call the Town of Holden if there is an emergency because they are not able to send out an officer as quickly nor as efficiently as the regional 911 dispatch center. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable 2007.

Respectfully submitted,

Gene Worcester, Police Chief
